The Wheeler Centre is Melbourne’s home for smart, passionate and entertaining public talks. Housed in the south wing of State Library Victoria, its building comprises a performance space with advanced digital recording and streaming capabilities; a workshop space; meeting rooms; and the offices of several literary organisations.
Accessibility
The Wheeler Centre has one (1) entrance from Lonsdale Street.
Entry is via a small staircase or ramp through a set of glass doors into the Level 2 foyer.
From the foyer, there are two (2) central doors that lead into the Performance Space.
Entry into the Performance Space is step-free/wheelchair-accessible through the rear. Once in the Performance Space, all seating is step-free.
Seats in The Wheeler Centre are matte plastic. They do not recline nor have cup holders, arm- or footrests, or side tables attached.
Please see How to Book Your Ticket if you require step-free/wheelchair-accessible seating at The Wheeler Centre. Please approach a MIFF Front of House staff member for assistance when you arrive at the venue.
Bathrooms, including accessible and gender-neutral bathrooms, are located within the Level 2 foyer.

The Astor Theatre
St Kilda
The Astor Theatre is a cinema in the grand, old manner. It is the last single-screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne: still standing since its grand opening in 1936, and one of only a few single-screen movie theatres from the 1930s in the world screening repertory movie programming.
Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located in the foyer of The Astor on the right. The Box Office is accessible via 4 steps from the main entrance doors or step-free/wheelchair access is through the ramped entrance to the left of the main doors, that leads directly into the Overlook Bar. Turn right and use the ramp to access the foyer and the MIFF Box Office.
Food and Beverage
The main candy bar is located in the ground floor Foyer. The Overlook Bar, adjacent to the foyer, also operates for evening sessions. There is an additional smaller candy bar upstairs on the Dress Circle level. There is step-free/wheelchair access to the main candy bar and the Overlook Bar via the ramped entrance to the left of the main doors. The cinema is licensed.

Forum Melbourne
Melbourne
Forum Melbourne is a live music, cinema, theatre, and event venue located on the corner of Flinders Street and Russell Street in Melbourne CBD. Built in 1929, Forum showcases unique Gothic-Romanesque architecture and features a sky-blue ceiling creating an illusion of an outdoor amphitheatre setting.
Box Office
The MIFF Box Office is located inside Forum on the left-hand side of the ground floor Foyer. Forum has one small step up to the central double doors. Step-free/wheelchair access is via the ramp through the right-hand side set of doors.
Food and Beverage
Forum features a bar/candy bar, located in the mezzanine foyer, for refreshments, snacks, beer and wine.
